Helicopter Landing Assistant (Hla) Course
Oceanic Momentum group'sHelicopter Underwater Escape Training (H.U.E.T) course combines theoretical and practical sessions, culminating in a written assessment. Given the physical nature of the course, participants will engage in activities such as lifting, climbing, and pulling.
Helicopters play a critical role in transporting personnel and materials to and from offshore installations. Ensuring the safe landing and takeoff of helicopters on these platforms requires skilled personnel. This course is specifically designed to train Helicopter Landing Assistants (HLAs) in supporting Helicopter Landing Officers (HLOs) with safe landing and takeoff operations.
Course Overview:
Objective: The objective of this training is to educate delegates in both theory and practice, enabling them to proficiently perform activities related to helicopter operations at an offshore mining installation, under both normal and emergency conditions.
Learning Targets:
- 1. Understanding the hazards associated with helicopter operations, identifying dangerous areas, and familiarizing with entry and escape routes (helideck and helicopter).
- 2. Knowing the personal protective equipment required, its usage, cleaning, maintenance, and proper completion of available equipment.
- 3. Preparing the helideck and associated firefighting equipment for the safe landing and takeoff of helicopters.
- 4. Performing normal and emergency procedures associated with the landing and takeoff of helicopters.
- 5. Safely boarding or disembarking persons and loading or unloading freight, including handling dangerous materials.
- 6. Understanding the procedures for loading the helicopter and collecting data for determining its weight.
- 7. Familiarizing with procedures and actions for starting helicopter engines and providing any necessary support.
- 8. Learning targets related to loading fuel, including:
o Understanding fuel installation operations.
o Properly refueling a helicopter.
o Conducting fuel quality checks to ensure safe operation.
