Steering Course
The Oceanic Momentum Group's Steering Course is designed to elevate the skills of seafarers, ensuring they can proficiently steer and comply with helm orders. This course offers comprehensive training in the use of magnetic and gyro compasses, which are crucial for effective bridge watch duties.
Course objective:
- Steering on Various Types and Sizes of Merchant Ships: Gain experience and proficiency in steering different classes and sizes of merchant vessels.
- Testing on Various Navigation Buoyage Systems: Learn and test knowledge on various navigation buoyage systems, crucial for safe navigation.
- Steering by Compass by Day: Develop the ability to steer accurately using a compass during daylight hours.
- Steering by Compass by Night: Enhance night-time navigation skills, ensuring precise steering by compass in low visibility conditions.
- Steering While Entering/Leaving Port: Master the techniques of steering during critical maneuvers when entering and leaving ports.
- Steering in Heavy Weather: Acquire skills to maintain control and steer effectively in challenging heavy weather conditions.
